JOCR8 gets 88 on the YSlow scale! pretty impressive

Were delighted to have a very fast community site. According to the YSlow plugin for Firebug. We took an A for every factor in the test except for an F for CDN; which is out of reach .. for now :). And a n/a for External CSS/JS which is a bug that occurs in YSlow sometimes.

Which means that JOCR8 almost got an A.

Check out it out for yourselves http://www.jocr8.com

Please tell us if you have a site which got more than 88 in Jordan so we can compare.

www.colourlovers.com and the power of API’s

We have stumbled on an interesting website called colourlovers which as the name implies is all about colors.

They have an interesting set of API’s that can retrieve colors and palettes and patterns. We imagine it can give the portal developers a good reference for site themes.

Here is a experiment for testing different patterns and color schemes that gets its data through the API’s as XML and then implements the pallet and pattern to the page.

Try it out http://www.binaryinteractivestudios.com/experiment/random_themes/

Google enters the browser market - Google Chrome

We have been really excited about the new browser released in beta from Google.

Google Chrome is lightning fast in page rendering due to the fact that each tab has a separate process. And also it has Google Gears already built in. So this will definitely increase the penetration rates for Gears.

Lets see what they have up their sleeves for the full version.
